The ministry of the foreign affairs regularly organizes events which helps the members of the Diaspora to receive/exchange updated information about doing business and investing in Georgia, expands sustainable collaborative relationships between relevant agencies, governmental programs and Diaspora.
Many events were organized for the last two years In collaboration with international organizations, most importantly 7 events with IOM, including online meetings, business forums with offline discussion sessions in Georgia (including B2B meetings).
Diaspora Economic Forum 2021
Diaspora economic forum focused on Presenting business and entrepreneurial conditions, specific investment opportunities and programs for Compatriots residing abroad. About 120 Diaspora representatives living abroad from different parts of the world attended the event.
As part of the forum four thematic meetings were held about business supporting programs, rural and agricultural development, investment opportunities and access to finance. At those meetings state agencies’, state programs’ and international organizations’ speakers and competent people involved in the administration and implementation of each program made their presentations and reviewed existing opportunities.
Diaspora Business Forum 2021
Forum aimed at encouraging the involvement of the Diaspora in the process of economic development of the country, cooperation between compatriots residing abroad and the workers of local business, establishing business contacts and increasing access to new markets for local businesses. The participants of the event, compatriots residing abroad and foreign guests, had the opportunity to get to know the investment environment of Georgia, state programs and initiatives supporting business.
Emigration and Involvement of the Diaspora in the Development of Private sectors
On the 24-25th of November the first regional conference about the Involvement of the Diaspora in the development of private sectors will be held online. The originators of the event are the Ministry of the Foreign Affairs of Georgia, as a member governmental agency of the migration issues and International Organization for Migration (IOM), the mission of Georgia. The regional conference will be held as the part of the project funded by Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Norway.
At the event particular attention will be paid to the strengthening of trade and investment ties with the participation of the Diaspora, ways of encouraging the involvement of immigrants in the development of the private sector and the experience of the different countries in this field.
Turkey-Georgia Business Forum “Chveneburebi”
“The scale of the Turkey-Georgia business forum clearly reflects the exceptionally special, friendly and strategic relations which connects two countries – Georgia and Turkey” – said the minister of the Foreign Affairs Ilia Darchiashvili during his speech to the participants of the Turkey-Georgia business forum “Chveneburebi”.
The forum was held for the first time with the involvement of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Georgia, Georgian historical Diaspora living in the republic of Turkey and with the Georgian and Turkish businessmen’s association’s initiative.
We should mention that the Turkey-Georgia Business Forum organized by the Ministry of the Foreign Affairs was the fourth large-scale event to provide involvement of Diaspora’s representatives in the process of economic reconstruction of the country.
Meeting Between Diaspora and Representatives of the sector of the Business in Nuremberg
0n the 27th September of 2022 meeting was held between Georgian Diaspora and representatives of the sector of the business in Nuremberg. The deputy Minister of the Foreign Affairs Vladimir Konstantinidi welcomed the participants with a speech.
The aim of the meeting, between Georgian Diaspora and business representatives, was to share the knowledge and the experience of the compatriots residing in Germany about the fabrication of the local products, to establish partnership relations, to have access to the German market and to make foreign investors interested.
Economics and Business – Georgian Diaspora for the Development of the Country
On the 20th September of this year the Minister of the Foreign Affairs organized online meeting “economics and business – Georgian Diaspora for the development of the country” was held with the participation of the compatriots residing and working abroad in the different fields of business.

“Georgian Diaspora for the development of the country”, the speakers talked about investment and entrepreneurial environment of Georgia, national and international programs supporting business.
